Verification request: how to discuss it without exposing your documents

Identity and payment checks can involve sensitive documents. A public forum is not a suitable place to upload a passport, bank statement, selfie, proof of address or account credentials.

If you need advice, describe the type of request, whether it came through the operator’s official account area and which requirement is unclear. You can explain that a document was rejected without showing the document itself. Ask the operator privately which field, date or format needs correction.

For Great Britain, the Gambling Commission publishes specific guidance about identity checks and withdrawals. Those rules are jurisdiction-specific, so say which country and operator apply to your question. Has the operator explained the missing requirement clearly?

Editorial follow-up note

If a message asks you to send documents to an unfamiliar email address or through a social-media account, first verify the request inside the operator’s official account area or through independently located support details.

Do not follow a contact address supplied by a stranger who claims to represent support. Moderators on this forum will never ask you to post verification documents, passwords or one-time codes. A guest nickname is not proof of someone’s identity or authority.

Editorial follow-up note

A useful support request says: “You asked for proof of address; the document was rejected. Please identify the unmet requirement and the secure upload route.” It does not require exposing the document publicly.

In Great Britain, the Gambling Commission’s withdrawal guidance distinguishes information that could reasonably have been requested earlier from checks that arise later. That distinction is not a guarantee about any individual case and should not be applied to an operator in another jurisdiction without checking its rules.

Example question: an account area says “proof of address rejected” without explaining why. Would uploading the document here help people identify the issue, or is there a way to ask a useful question without exposing it?

Describe the requested document type, the rejection wording and which requirement is unclear. Keep the document itself private. Ask official support which field, issue date, format or other stated requirement needs attention.

A forum cannot verify the account or determine from a redacted image that a provider must accept a document. Even partially covered documents may retain identifying information, so a plain-language question is the better starting point.

Suppose the request arrives through a social account claiming to be support instead of the account area. Should a familiar logo or a helpful-looking nickname be enough to trust where the document is being sent?

No. Independently open the operator’s official site or app and locate its support channel there. Ask whether the request is genuine before transmitting anything. A logo, nickname or forum badge does not establish authority over a casino account.

State the country in the question too. The Gambling Commission references linked in this topic concern Great Britain; they should not be presented as the rules for every country represented on this forum.
